CareerTrail AI
PLAIN-LANGUAGE AGREEMENT

Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of CareerTrail AI, including its free tools, digital guides, and personalized services.

Last updated: September 24, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

By creating an account, using CareerTrail AI, or purchasing a product or service, you agree to these Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Who may use CareerTrail

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must give permission and supervise your use. Paid personalized résumé and application services are available only to customers age 18 or older.

3. Your account and security

Provide accurate information, keep your login credentials private, and promptly notify CareerTrail if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account unless applicable law provides otherwise. CareerTrail may require email or purchase verification before restoring access, disclosing account information, or processing certain requests.

4. Your information and documents

You keep ownership of the information and original documents you provide. You give CareerTrail a limited permission to host, process, format, reproduce, and display that material only as reasonably necessary to operate the features and services you request.

You must have the right to provide all submitted information. Before entering a professional reference’s contact information, you must have that person’s permission. Do not submit Social Security numbers, financial-account details, passwords, medical records, immigration records, or other highly sensitive information that CareerTrail does not request.

5. Career and AI guidance—not a guarantee

CareerTrail provides educational and organizational career tools. It is not an employer, staffing agency, attorney, financial adviser, school, or government agency. It cannot guarantee interviews, admission, employment, salary, certification, benefits, or any particular outcome.

Automated and AI-generated suggestions may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. You must review and verify every résumé, cover letter, job suggestion, application, route, cost estimate, and other output before relying on it or sending it to another person.

6. Truthful and responsible use

You may not use CareerTrail to:

  • Invent qualifications, employment, education, credentials, skills, or accomplishments.
  • Impersonate another person or submit information without authority.
  • Infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.
  • Harass, discriminate, deceive, defraud, distribute malware, scrape the service, bypass security, or attempt unauthorized access.
  • Resell accounts or paid materials, publicly post protected downloads, or use the service in violation of law.

You remain responsible for the truthfulness and legality of every application and communication you send.

7. Digital products, payments, and access

Prices, page counts, and included materials are displayed before checkout. Prices may change for future purchases, and applicable taxes may be added when required by law. Stripe processes payments, and its terms may also apply. CareerTrail does not intentionally store complete payment-card numbers in its application database. A purchase gives you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use the purchased material. You may not resell, publicly post, copy for distribution, or commercially exploit it.

GED Plus is an optional recurring subscription billed at the price and frequency shown before checkout. It renews automatically each month until canceled. You may manage or cancel it through the subscription-management button in your CareerTrail GED Learning account. Cancellation stops future renewals and access normally continues through the end of the paid billing period.

CareerTrail’s GED learning materials are independent study and practice resources. CareerTrail is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, authorized by, or operated by GED Testing Service LLC, the American Council on Education, any state department of education, any state testing agency, or any school district unless expressly stated in writing. CareerTrail is not an accredited school, college, testing center, diploma program, degree-granting institution, licensing agency, or credential issuer.

GED® is a registered trademark of the American Council on Education and is administered by GED Testing Service LLC. CareerTrail uses the term only to identify the type of high-school-equivalency preparation a learner may be seeking. CareerTrail does not claim ownership of that trademark or provide official GED® test questions, leaked test content, official answer keys, testing software, scores, or confidential testing materials.

A subscription or workbook purchase does not register you for an exam, include exam fees, issue academic credit or a credential, establish eligibility, or guarantee that you will pass an examination. Eligibility, identification, residency, age, fees, approved testing options, required scores, and credential rules vary by jurisdiction and may change. You are responsible for confirming current requirements with the applicable official testing provider or government agency.

Lessons, explanations, practice questions, links, and references may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information and may be revised or removed. Do not rely on CareerTrail as the sole source for official requirements or other high-stakes decisions.

Purchase access may be suspended or removed if a payment is reversed, refunded, fraudulent, or associated with a material violation of these terms. Refund eligibility is governed by the Refund Policy and applicable law.

8. Personalized résumé and application services

CareerTrail may organize, format, or improve documents using information supplied by the customer. The customer must confirm that every fact is complete and accurate. CareerTrail will not knowingly invent employment, education, credentials, skills, or accomplishments.

The description shown before payment controls the deliverables, estimated turnaround, and included revisions. Turnaround begins after payment and all requested information are received. Delays caused by incomplete information, late responses, or requested changes may extend the estimate. CareerTrail does not promise that a document will pass every applicant-tracking system or produce an interview or job offer.

9. Third-party services, links, and estimates

Job listings, maps, transportation providers, schools, training programs, payment tools, and outside links may be operated by third parties. CareerTrail does not control their availability, accuracy, pricing, eligibility rules, or privacy practices. Verify important information directly with the provider before acting.

Sponsored or affiliate content will be identified when used. CareerTrail may earn compensation from an affiliate link without increasing the stated price to you. References to organizations or trademarks do not mean they sponsor or endorse CareerTrail unless stated clearly.

10. Service availability and account action

Features may be corrected, improved, limited, or discontinued, and temporary interruptions may occur. CareerTrail may investigate, restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, security threats, legal requirements, nonpayment, or violations of these terms.

You may stop using CareerTrail at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. Provisions concerning payments, ownership, disclaimers, liability, disputes, and obligations that logically continue will survive account closure.

11. CareerTrail ownership and feedback

CareerTrail’s software, branding, layouts, lessons, practice questions, explanations, graphics, guides, workbooks, and original content are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these terms, no rights are transferred to you.

Your access is a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license for personal career-preparation or educational use. You may print a purchased workbook or guide for your own use, but may not reproduce, upload, resell, sublicense, scrape, systematically copy, publicly distribute, remove ownership notices from, or commercially exploit CareerTrail content. You may not use CareerTrail content or automated access to create or train a competing commercial product without written permission.

If you voluntarily send suggestions, CareerTrail may use them to improve the service without compensation, while continuing to handle personal information under the Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareerTrail and its products are provided “as is” and “as available.” CareerTrail disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement. CareerTrail does not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free output, permanent storage, or that third-party information will remain accurate or available. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareerTrail and its owners, operators, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost income, opportunities, educational placement, expected results, data, or goodwill; or decisions made from CareerTrail or third-party information, service interruptions, or unauthorized account access. CareerTrail’s total liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid CareerTrail during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) $100.

These limits do not exclude liability that cannot legally be limited, and your consumer rights remain protected where applicable.

14. Your responsibility for misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to reimburse CareerTrail for reasonable losses, claims, and costs caused by your unlawful content, your material violation of these terms, or your misuse of another person’s rights. CareerTrail will provide reasonable notice of a covered claim and allow reasonable participation in the defense.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you and CareerTrail agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve it by email. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, claims may be brought in the state or federal courts serving Rockland County, New York. You may also use an eligible small-claims court. Nothing in this section removes rights that cannot be waived under consumer law.

16. Changes, severability, and contact

CareerTrail may update these terms as services or legal requirements change. The updated date will appear on this page, and material changes may also be announced in the service or by email when appropriate. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised terms.

If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. Questions may be emailed to johnny@careertrailai.com.
